International Scrapbooking Day

Who celebrated International Scrapbboking Day??

I did!!!
I gave an open invitation to all of friends to come and join me for a day of creating!!
There were 5 of us busy working on our projects and of course chatting, laughing and snacking..... a lot :)
I completed a card and 2 layouts.
I think that is pretty good for 10 hours.
I am really happy with how this layout turned out.
I used a Crop & Create kit to make this layout.
The kit wasn't my style, but I loved the papers, so I used these beautiful papers to make this pretty layout :)

Lots of different punches were used for these vines/flourishes.
I seem to hoard my flair badges...but thought this one was perfect for this layout.

I also used some long hoarded glass flowers.
This is the sketch I followed.
I tried to find out who's sketch this was, but couldn't find the original creator.
Again, my completed layout...now to find the perfect photo.

I hope you all had a very Creative International Scrapbooking Day :)

Crop & Create Layout

Another 2 page layout from the Crop & Create Goody/Thank You kit :)
Ironically enough, these photos are from that same event.
This first layout was from the kit, the second layout I made with the extra papers….or the paper I cut the centres from.

These layouts were made just before Summer when I had my friend Lynne over to create with me.
She and I worked on these layouts together :)
To make my kits stretch, I used my own card stock for the background paper.
I also cut the centre out of the 1st layout and used it on the 2nd layout so they would tie in with each other.
I also added my hexagon die to both layouts as well…isn't this such a fun die cut…plus it goes nicely with the hexagon background paper :)

I had mentioned that Lynne and I worked on these together…..I shared with her how I make my kits stretch, and she joined in :)
Here are both of our layouts together to see the difference.
Mine is on the top….which I see I had changed up a bit, teehee.
Lynne's is on the bottom….She used the side of the paper that the kit called for….I just had to change mine up a bit, teehee.
As you can see, Lynne used her chevron punch as it matched her papers nicely :)

Hope you all had a very creative day :)

You are my Fav….layout.

I should be packing up for the Crop & Create event that I am attending this weekend.
But instead, I am completing some layouts from their kits I purchased last year.
This layout is from last years Goody/Thank You kit :)

These layouts were designed by Vicki Boutin.
I followed her design pretty much exact :)
I did add some spray mists to the yellow card stock for some added interest and well….yellow is not one of my first picks in colour ;)

I didn't have the envelop/bag that was supplied in the kit.
But I had one similar :)
I just added some wood veneer hearts that I had painted red and the heart shaped paper clip.
Don't you just love this layered embellishment under the envelope :)

As well as this fun cluster of embellishments :)
I may have shared this layout before, but I had just added photos to it.
That is one benefit of having some pre-made pages done :)

I hope you all have a very creative day :)

You Are My FAV….layout.

I was debating on sharing these layouts.
For one, I don't have any photos for them yet.
And two, I made this page from a kit, designed by Vicki Boutin.
This detailed kit was the goodie bag, from the Crop & Create event…from 2013….told you I was a procrastinator, lol.
But I did do a few things differently.

These are not colours that I would normally choose.
I am not a big fan of the colour yellow, so I spritzed the card stock with some mists.
Like I mentioned in yesterday's post, I misplaced the envelope that came in the kit, so I used one I had on hand, then added some wood hearts I had painted.
I just love the banner embellishment that was included in the kit…love the stitching!!

Here is the second page to this 2 page layout.
The kit consisted of this 2 page layout, Two 1 page layouts and 3 cards.
I like to make 2 page layouts, so I find ways to cut down on my papers, so I can use them on both of the pages.
For example:
The black "Spread Your Wings" paper was to run the full length under the papers.
I cut two strips and put them on either side of the paper layers
I also cut the centres out of papers where photos or other papers will sit on.

For the black paper, the kit called to use chalkboard paper that was supplied in the kit…I wanted to save it, as I liked the other side of it.
So what I did was use black cardstock and chalked the paper with….chalk ;)

I am liking this embellishment layer here as well.

Here are both of the layouts side by side as they will be in my album…..when they get in an album.
Because I don't have photos for these layouts yet, I haven't done a title or journaling.
I may take some photos of my girls on Mother's Day for this layout…since the pocket lable is "You are my Fav."  I surely can't put only one of my daughters on this layout ;)

I hope you all have a very Creative Day :)

Layering embellishments

Some more layering on my scrapbook layouts…..I am really liking this ;)

I had shared with you that on International Scrapbooking Day, my friend Lynne and I did some scrapbooking.
We completed 4 layouts each…just need some finishing touches.
Like photos ;)

We worked from the Crop & Create Goody Bag.
Which supplied all of the papers and embellishments (except for the ones I misplaced) with detailed cutting instructions.
If I remember correctly, I think this was from the 2013 event we went to.

The embellishment cluster I have shown in the photo is a bit different then what they had, as I had misplaced their tiny bag, so had to use one of my own and then I added the 3 hearts to it.

I will share the full layout in tomorrow's post.

I hope you all had a very Creative Day :)

Crop & Create Layout with a video.

Do you remember these layouts I had shared on my blog?
Well, I have finally made a video for them :)
I know I wanted January to be my "Catch up" month..but it looks like I am pushing it into February as well, teehee.
But I am catching up AND keeping up with this year.

1st page of my 2 page spread.
I seem to only do 2 page layouts.
I think I am in the minority though.
Do you all do 1 or 2 page spreads?
In my 6x6 album I have made 2 page spreads but on two different events…I think that is as close as I can get to doing a 1 page layout.

2nd page of my 2 page spread.
Another thing I am ol' school about, is using post bound albums.
I just don't like the look of the binders for me personally.
Funny as when I did 8.5x11 scrapbook pages they are all in binder albums.
How about you, post bound or binder bound albums?

And finally my video :)
I hope you enjoy.
If you want to see it on my channel, as I still can't figure out how to size it smaller on my blog…here it is …Crop & Create Layout
I hope you all had a very creative Monday :)
