Baby Boy Afghan

I created another crocheted baby afghan :)
This time for a baby boy!

I just love the scalloped edge to this pattern.
This is the pattern I made up from looking at a photo of one that didn't have a pattern to it.
It is really quite simple.
It all double crochets.
The main colour is 3 double crochets in each space.
The multi coloured border is also worked in the spaces with 3 double crochets.
The mint scallops are 5 double crochets worked in every second space, and slip stitch in every other space....but 6 dc's in the corners.
The grey trim on the scallops are (slip st, chain 2, slp st) in each dc and just sl st in the slp st of the mint colour.
Clear as mud, lol.

I added an extra stitch early in on the afghan.
I knew I could have hid it when doing the trim, but my husband knows me well, as he said it would drive me crazy...and he was right.
So rip, rip, rip....luckily only had to rip out 2 rows.

Then at the end when I was doing the edging, I did 5 dc's in each space...not only every second space...grrr.
As I was crocheting it, I knew something wasn't right...but I just kept on going....until the end.
Realized it when I was done, so this was a major rip out, lol.

But with the mishaps, it turned out beautifully and Lia (the new mom to be) loved it, so that is all that matters.
I did a video on the afghan.

I hope you all enjoy a creative day πŸ’—

Celia's Crochet Baby Afghans

Here is the baby afghan I made for Baby Celia πŸ’—
This is my 5th baby afghan I have made in a year.

This is the first time I used this pattern....every other one I had made, the pattern was a shell pattern and I wanted to change it up this time.
I just love love love the scallop edge on this one with the grey trim on the pink scallops.

Just look at that edge!!!!
I just think it looks so pretty.

I saw this type of afghan on Pinterest and loved how it looked, but when I clicked on the link, it was for the completed afghan, not the pattern.
I really wanted to make this pattern, so I figured out the pattern by looking at the photo.
I can't say if this is exactly as the one on Pinterest, but it doesn't matter, I love how it turned out....so much so that I am making one for a baby boy now.

The pattern is a granny square in a row, so all double crochets.
I was jotting down on scraps of paper what I was doing for this pattern.... on many different pieces of paper, lol
I finally put them all together and wrote down the pattern.

I did a video showing the 2 different types of baby afghans I have made.

Crocheting and Zombies

Crocheting a baby blanket while watching The Walking Dead...isn't that what all grandma to-be's do ;)

If you remember from this post "Oops"...I took apart the error on my baby afghan and fixed it.
It took 2 minutes to rip apart the 1 hour of crocheting I had done.

But I am happy to announce that I have completed the baby afghan!!
Now Ashley is allowed to have her baby, teehee.
I changed up the scalloped edge from the pattern.
I actually like my version better and I think it was easier and quicker to do as well :)

I also completed watching season 2 of The Walking Dead.
It was 9.63 hours of pure enjoyment :)
Mind you I didn't get in many steps today, but I did complete the afghan, so I feel a bit accomplished.
Tomorrow is season 3!!

I hope you all have a very creative day.
I did :)

Oops

Can you see what is wrong with this picture?

I crocheted the wrong colour!!!
Each colour takes 45 to 60 minutes to complete.
So I just wasted about an hour crocheting the wrong colour :(
I was a bit frustrated so I haven't worked on it for a couple of weeks....time to pick it up and complete it.
I won't want baby to come before I'm done with his afghan ;)

I hope you all have a very creative day :)

Getting my wool on.

I do many different types of crafts.
For the past, many years, it has been mostly paper crafting.
I just felt like I wanted to change it up, so I decided to make a baby afghan.
I just love this colour combination.

So many new babies are going to be born...and the 3 that I know of are all going to be boys.
Actually my younger brother and his wife are having their baby today...haven't heard back from them yet.
It is taking all of my strength not to contact them....they live in a different province than I do.
So I just have to be patient.

When you knit or crochet, do you pull the yarn out of the middle of the ball?
Do you re-string it, or just work it from the outside of the ball?
As you can see, I pull it out from the middle of the ball.

Here is where I found the pattern for this adorable pattern "The Stitchin' Mommy"

I hope you all have a creative day :)
