Parents Road Trip

I am on another adventure.
But this time with my honey 😊
It was an early morning road trip, but before we left, I quickly printed out some coupons.

Our very first stop was to a scrapbook store in Superior Wisconsin.
Wayne was shocked when I came back to the jeep emptied handed....so was I.

Our next stop was Michaels craft store.
With coupons in hand, I picked up some Gelatos. Never used these before, so I'm eager to try them out.
We did go back again to Michaels so I could use my coupons on everything.
I admit it I'm thrifty ;)
There is a Hobby Lobby here in Duluth, so picked up a few more goodies....with coupons of course.
I even found these big brush Pitt pens, excited to play with these as well.
The cashier gave Wayne his coupon back, so he could use it again...nice. :)
It was drizzling a bit when we left this morning, then the sun came out.
but when we got to Duluth it started to snow :(
We enjoyed a nice meal at the Texas Roadhouse. First time we have been there.
I brought over 1/2 of my meal back to the hotel though.
Tomorrow we are heading to Minneapolis for the day. Lots of driving for Wayne...a long nap for me ;).

I hope you all had a creative Friday :)

Journal Addiction

I have a love affair with journals and notebooks.
If I see one I like, I have to have it.
The feel, the smell and the excitement of using a new journal just makes me happy.
I keep telling myself that I don't need another notebook or journal…but then I see one that is just so pretty or one I figure is perfect for my next project and I find myself at the checkout eagerly wanting to give the salesperson my money ;)
See these journals here, they are just a small look at my many journals….I have not written a word in any of these ones.
Even though these are full of blank pages, I don't think they will be my last ;)

I am off on another adventure tomorrow, don't be surprised if I come home with new journal ;)

Thankful Thursday:
I am thankful that I have an addiction that is not harmful, well maybe to my pocketbook ;)
I am thankful that I have rediscovered my love of scrapbooking.
I am thankful for all of my adventures.

Hope you all had a very Creative Thursday :)

Sisters Layout

Look at me go!!!
Another 2 page scrapbooking layout.
So easy to make with these beautiful photos of my daughters taken by my oldest daughter.

Here is the first page.
I didn't even know this photo was taken until I asked Ashley for the photos she took at this photo shoot.
I love this photo in this old abandon farm house.
I really love this hand made paper, it looks like leather to me.
I hoarded it for the perfect layout…..see its good to hoard ;)

Here is a closer look to this paper.
I really like this "beautiful" sticker. I like that it is a full 12" in length and the sparkly writing.

I love, love, love this cluster.
I wanted to add some metal embellishments to this layout and these seemed just perfect.
The "Know in your heart you are loved" charm was painted. I used a brass metallic paint and then wiped some away for a distressed look.

My second page to this layout.
Another photo I didn't know that she took. I had only seen the one the girls gave me for Mother's Day.
I felt like I hit the jackpot when Ashley gave me these photos.

I inked these frames as they were really light in colour.
I also added the dimensional stickers inside of these dimensional frames.

I really really like this bookplate.
I again added metallic paint to this piece.
I used some of the handmade paper to back the letters that spell "sisters".
The brads I used for the bookplate are so neat as they look like screw heads.

Here are both pages together.
I really like how this one turned out.

I did a video on this layout.

I hope you all had a very Creative Wednesday :)

Beautiful Photo Shoot Layout

Sharing another layout today.
I have to say, this one may be my simplest layout I have ever done.
But, I wanted to keep the focus of this layout on these beautiful photos of my gorgeous daughters
Here are both pages together.

This is the first page of my 2 page layout.
Even though these photos were taken in the Spring, I used Autumn coloured papers.
The reason being, the photos pop off of these colours.
The second reason, nothing has bloomed yet, so it looks more like fall then spring.

When my daughters did this photo shoot a few years ago, I didn't see all of the photos, only the one they gave me for Mother's Day.
I think that they all turned out beautifully.

This is the second page to my 2 page layout.
This is the photo that my daughter's gave me for Mother's day, they enlarged it to a 18x24 print.

It is a simple layout.
I mat my photos and added some o-ordinating paper that I cut into strips.
Lastly I added some pretty dimensional stickers to the corners.
I am sure these layouts still took me a few hours to put together though ;)

I did a quick video on this layout.

I hope you all had a very Creative Tuesday :)

My love of Journals

I love book stores!!!
I can spend hours in them and it will only feel like a few minutes.
Not only do I love to read, I also love journals and note books.

This makes me happy.
Look at all these journals, with all the lovely blank pages inside, just waiting to be touched by a pen..
I would love one of each please ;)

I am working on a new journal/planner :) more to come on that ….if it works for me ;)
As I was at the book store today, I ran into an old school friend.
I thought it was ironic to run into her after all these years at a bookstore, as she was the one that got me into keeping a diary in (I think) 7th grade.
I thought she had the perfect life, and was intrigued that she wrote in a diary almost every night.
The next day after seeing her diary, I used my babysitting money to purchase my own "Ziggy" journal with a fountain pen.
My first entry was in January of 1982 and was about a boy asking me to date him, lol.
Since then have kept one for years in different forms.
I still have all of my journals/diary's, it is one thing my younger sister would still love to get her hands on :)

I hope you all had a very Creative Monday :)

Wedding Show

I went to the Wedding show event today.
I was so hungry at the end of it, that I just wanted to cut into this beautiful cake and steal a slice…I don't think the vender would have been too happy with me though ;)

As most of you are aware, my daughter Ashley is getting married in August :)
Here is my daughter Ashley (the beautiful girl with the red hair), with her  equally beautiful friend/maid of honour Lia.

I was blown away by this stunning cake.
I asked and it was a real cake…so cool!!!
Sadly, Ashley didn't win anything :(
We were hoping she would have won the grand prize of over 10,000.00 worth of gift cards for wedding vendors and such.

Look who learned a new trick…Luna is on the very top of the cupboards.
She gets up there and then meows, like she needs help down, silly kitty.

Silly and bad kitty.
I didn't get around to taking my decor down from my crop last night.
I took down the outdoor Halloween decorations this morning and then had to go to the wedding show.
Heather told me that Luna ripped the bottom of my photo booth display.
I was a bit shocked as she destroyed it, lol.
But the background was just a dollar and she had fun, so all is good ;)

I am off to watch The Walking Dead, so I hope you all had a very Creative Sunday :)

Halloween Crop

I had an awesome day today.
I held a 6 hour crop (which went into overtime ;) in my home :)
I love to get my friends together and do what we love to do, which is create, chat and enjoy each other's company :)
Making it into a party is just a bonus :)

I had such a great time decorating for it, making the giant tissue flowers and the treat bags
Most of the Halloween displays were up anyway, but I did have to get the craft/pool table party ready ;)
Oh yeah, can't forget the photo staging area.

Here is one of my areas downstairs that I love to decorate for each season.
The banner is from a Banner Swap that Gale (The Happy Stamper) held many years ago.
The art in the frame, is a paper quilt I made…again, many years ago.
And the ceramic Haunted House I painted over 25 years ago…wow, time really does go by quickly.

Here is a closer look at the Haunted House.
It has a tiny light inside, but I have changed it to a battery light. So much easier to put where ever I want it and not have to worry about it being near a plug in.
The Witch on the pool table, is ceramic and hand painted by me many years ago as well.

We used to have fish in this aquarium, but not for a very long time now, so I just use this area for another place I get to decorate.
I was going to put heads inside of the aquarium, but none of my friends watch The Walking Dead, so the humour would have been lost on them ;)
All the wooden pieces, I cut and painted years ago.
See the theme here, lol. I think I need some new decor ;)

Look, even Marilyn got spookified ;)

Besides decorating for a party, we all know we need some yummy treats :)
I supplied the cupcakes..thank you Safeway ;)
I added these fun skull toppers that I picked up on one of my recent travels to a dollar store.

We all know we need some salt with our sweets.
And what is a few centipedes mixed in.
A few of the ladies also brought some goodies, we had homemade sloppy joes, chocolate cake, taco dip and artichoke dip…yummy.

The very best thing though is friends.
And I am lucky to have some wonderful, creative and caring friends :)

My friend Lynne wanted to dress up.
So some of us did.
We had a cool Santa, a tutu cutie and a spider hat witch.
I was a slave to my craft, as I wore a chain with crafting supplies attached and a tag that pointed out my love of supplies ;)

And of course we had many many laughs.
My friends are hilarious and I am lucky to have them in my life.

Before everyone got here, I did a quick video of my set up and decor :)
If you would rather watch the video on my YouTube channel, just click the link "Tracy's Treasures24"I hope you all had a very Creative Saturday :)
I even completed 3 more pages today….well, almost 3 pages ;)
