Crop & Create!!

You all know how excited I am to host and to go to crops.
But the big daddy of them all is here again in my city and I am super super excited.
Crop & Create has been coming to our city for 5 years and I have been at this event every single year!!
I love it!!!
This year my friends and I made our own t-shirts :)
Cute right!

My friend Lesli picked up my shirt for me, and it was way to big...I didn't feel like going back to exchange it for a smaller size, so I just took it in....took it way in, lol.
But I kept the length as I am wearing leggings and want the bum covered ;)
Here is my friend Debbie and I after we ironed on the logo.

Like with every crop I like to make treat bags for my friends :)

I kept the bag simple and just made a washi tape banner and taped it to the bag on either end.

The best part...the goodies ;)
I added some sweats, as I love my sweets as well as a tag, and some twine.
I also stamped this adorable image by Angie Blom.
This image is perfect for this event as they have a photo wall and have a Polaroid frame we can use for pictures

So I am all packed up and just waiting for my friend Sharon to pick me up.
Can you believe this is all I have packed!!!
But I plan on buying, teehee.

I hope you all have a very creative day today....I know I will :)

Giving a Scrap about Autism Event

I went to a 12 hour crop on Saturday.
It was called "Giving a Scrap about Autism"
I have been going to this event for the last 5 years and sadly, this was their last year.
But they sure went out with a bang!!
Everything was top notch.
They had raffle tickets for a lot of awesome prizes and they gave away a prize every hour.
We received a delicious lunch and and even more yummy dinner.

Here are my friends and I celebrating and being silly.
We had 12 ladies in our group...well actually 11 as my friend Lesli (Vintage Scraps) couldn't make it at the last minute...but we kept in touch via texts and photos.
As we were taking this photo the photographer from our local news paper asked if he could take our photo for the local paper....then the camera man from our local TV news asked if he could video us for the 5:00 news, lol.
Here are the links if you are interested.

Here is the TV news link...Starts at 2:26- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWUUw4IMG7c&sns=fb

Here are the originals, teehee.
Denise, Lynne and I all have been going to this crop and every other crop around are area since day 1.
We also had bunny teeth in our group photos, but they kind of freaked my daughters out, so I thought I would spare you the horror, lol.

Don't we look cute ;)
On the left is Ingrid, she is one of the ladies that organized this amazing crop.
Char is in the middle, she is one of my newest crafty friends.
And me on the left.
I look pretty good here considering my morning didn't go so well and with the help of Ingrid's photo shopping skills, teehee.

I put all of my eggs in one basket as
I purchased a lot of tickets to win this beautiful painting.
Isn't it gorgeous.
I love umbrellas in art and with the pop of red against the greys...I just had to have it.
It was painted by my friend Verna's husband Roger.
Sadly I didn't win it though.

But I did win a hourly prize.
I won this $25.00 gift card to Michael's as well as some kettle corn.
The gift card will come in handy, especially since I am in a challenge with my friends to use our supplies and we can't purchase anything new in crafty supplies.
There are only 3 of us left...the others all caved, teehee.

Not only did I have a great time visiting and laughing with my friends, I even got some crafting done :)
My friend Debbie purchased a mini album kit from Crop & Create at last years event.
If I remember correctly she purchased the last kit, so I bought the mini album and just picked out papers from my stash.
So we worked on this project for the whole crop.
Debbie actually completed hers...I guess I visited to much as I still have a long way to go in finishing mine.

When I first started scrapbooking many moons ago and first heard about crops I wasn't sure if I would like them.
The idea of carting my supplies there and then carting them back home, just seemed like a lot of work.
But I love them!!!
I have figured out the perfect way to pack for me...which doesn't include bringing everything including the kitchen sink.
Plus being with my friends and meeting new creative people is is the best!!
Do you enjoy going to crops?

I hope you all have a very Creative Day :)

My 14 hour Scrapbooking Crop

I love to have my friends over to create with me.
So a few times a year I like to host a big crop.
Yes, I still have Friday Night Scrapbooking at my house every week, but I like to host a big get together a few times a year :)

I also love to decorate for these crops :)
This wood backdrop I made for Ashley's wedding.
I have seemed to claim it for my use now, teehee.
I set this up at the bottom of the stairs before entering the rec room where we craft.

Sending out invites is a must so everyone remembers when it is.
So I made an event on Facebook and used this photo of one of the insides of my cards I had made a few years ago.
I just put it in picmonkey and added the wording..easy.

I had these tissue medallions from a previous crop I held, but I wanted to change them up a bit.
I just added some large paper doilies behind them and voila, I gave them new life ;)

I have so much old scrapbooking paper that I decided to make some of these large and small medallions out of some of it.
Even ugly paper looks pretty this way :)
Oh and note to self...when they keep falling off and you need to add stronger tape, don't use duct tape as when it is time to take them down....you pull off your wall paint as well, lol.
Good thing I was planning on painting this room soon anyway.

These letters as well as the "artists" were left over from banners I had made for my daughter Ashley's bridal shower.
No, I never get rid of anything, lol.
Anyone need a couple of huge bags full of pink tissue paper flowers ;)

Here are some of the ladies that attended.
2 of my friends weren't able to make it..but my friend Lesli came by the night before :)
1 of the ladies had to leave early, so she missed the group photo.

I like to do giveaways as the day goes along.
Here is my friend Denise with her winning...a smashbook.
I gave away Smashbooks, large collapsable totes, a scrapbook with a co-ordinating kit and a scrapbook storage binder.
I also put out a "take what you want" box.
I think next time I might set up a table so everyone can set out their products that they don't want anymore.

Oh look we had a cute little visitor as well :)
My grandson Sawyer came to check out the ladies.
So happy he didn't make strange with anyone :)

Everyone had a chance to hold him...at least once ;)

My friend Lynne, kept losing her stuff.
I don't know how long she searched for her letter "A".
I offered her the one from my kit, but she found it, lol.

As much as we chat and laugh....we do actually get some crafting done.
The last few crops I have hosted, I have set up another table beside this one, so we would have more room...but no one wants to move from this table.
We are a close bunch.
So the table I set up, we put out our dishes. As it was pot luck and everyone brought something yummy to share.

Donna gave me this beautiful plant, I was so happy when it bloomed :)
And Denise made me this sweet card.

I can't not express how much I love to host these.
Not only do I love to see my friends and create with them, but it is so much fun having them in my home.
Love these ladies.

Scrap for Heart 2017

This past Saturday was the Scrap for Heart Crop Event!!
I love a good crop ;)
I have been going to this event every February since 2011.
My friends and I always have a great time...but with my friends it would be hard Not to have a great time :)
With all of the chatting, visiting and walking (yes my friend and I would take breaks and walk...got in my over 10,000 steps that day!) I did complete 6 layouts.
2 of which I have photos on...which Kristy says is all I got done. Because in her eyes a layout isn't complete unless it has photos.

I made a little kit to do pages for the 1/2 Marathon my friend Debbie and I completed in 2014.
I had been bringing this little kit for these pages to every crop I have attended.
I was determined to complete it at this one.

Here is the second page to this layout.
I saved the newspaper from that day with our times and a bit of a write up of the event.
Simple layout...but I like how they turned out :)

Here are a few of my friends and I.
This photo was taken later in the evening, so a few of our friends had left already.
It was a PJ theme crop.
I am not one to go out in pyjama pants, but at the last minute decided to just go with the flow, lol

Can you believe I only brought one tote for a 12 hour crop!!!
I couldn't and neither could any of my friends, teehee.
To make it easier on myself, I just brought some kits, extra matching papers for the kits (as I like to extend my kits) adhesive, trimmer and scissors.
Ok, ok, I also brought some punches, mini stapler and anything else I could fit in the tote, but still only one :)
But truth be told, I did bring a small bag with the treat bags I made for my friends and my munchies ;)

I hope you all have a very creative day :)

Crops and Critters

I am so excited I can't contain myself.
It is time for my Girl's Getaway with my friend Debbie.
Every year we rent a really nice cabin with a hot tub.
We relax, chat, create, chat, walk the trails, chat and soak in the hot tub...and you guessed it..chat :)
Here is what I am taking...this is only my crafty stuff.
How do you like my 3 legs in the mirror, lol.

We were at the cottage this weekend and I enjoyed some of the critters there.
This toad loves it here.
I found him inside this old birdhouse one weekend,
Then last weekend, Wayne found him in the BBQ cover, so I got his birdhouse and got him to crawl back in there.
This weekend he was on the side of the BBQ under the cover.

I again, got his birdhouse and got him to crawl on top of it.
Then I put it under the deck as that is where he was the first time I had seen him.

I then had fun watching the many chipmunks we have in our yard.
A baby chipmunk actually ran up the back of my shirt and back down, while I was sitting on the steps.
And this sneaky little guy kept climbing up the shepherds hook to get to the bird's seeds.
That was until I sprayed some cooking spray on it and he couldn't get up there anymore, teehee.
Then he would sit on my foot or run up my leg looking up at me like "where are my seeds?"
I had such fun that I think all of the neighbours heard me laughing :)

Not sure how the signal is going to be up at Mink Mountain, so not sure how much I will be on the internet :)
But what I do know is, I am going to have a blast!!

Hope you all have a very creative day :)

Crop for Autism

I was so excited to attend the Scrapbooking event for Autism!!!
This is another crop that I enjoy every year and I think this is the 4th year of the event and my 4th year attending.
Here is my gang :)
There was a Red Carpet photo wall..I am admiring my friend Lesli's (Vintage Scraps) huge rock of a diamond :)

My friend/SIL Sharon :)
We have been crafting together before my daughter's were even born.

I think us 3 here (Lesli, Lynne and I) are the loudest of the bunch.
Mind you our table was pretty tame this year…even Dena (one of the ladies that puts this event on every year) came over and asked us why we were so quiet, lol.

2 other of my silly friends Verna, Denise and I.

When I saw these rabbit teeth candy, I just had to put them in the gift bags I gave out to my friends.
I knew we would have some fun with these, teehee.
My friend Debbie and I doing just that :)

I was happy to have won a pretty cool prize :)
I was so excited to see that there was a gift card to the Painted Turtle art shop!!

Oh and I even got some work done :)
I of course brought way too much supplies with me.
I brought 3 scrapbooking kits, my Copics with images and papers to make a few cards and Ashley's wedding album.
I ended up completing 5 layouts and a card.
I was using up the last of the scraps in a kit I had. These are not the colours I would normally scrap with, it was a challenge but fun.

Here are the gift bags I put together for my friends :)
I added a stamped image to the front of the bags so they could use them on a project if they chose.

We all had a blast at the crop…but then again my friends and I have a blast where ever we go or what ever we do :)

I hope you all have a very creative day :)

Scrap 4 Heart Crop

Never a dull moment when we are all together :)
This years theme for the crop was Tropical....and my friends like to take it to the next level...and we did, lol.
How cute are these aprons...I mean our bod's, teehee.
We started with the shenanigans in the early morning....I guess the girls like my coconuts ;)

Here I am trying my selfie stick again...I can never find the button on this thing.
Here is my good friend Debbie and I.

Look at these kissy lips, lol.
They were chocolates, but we can play with our food...right, lol
This is my friend Denise and Lynne :)
Okay....now it is time to get to work....but don't worry, we still had a lot of laughs :)
Awwww....time to pack up and say good-bye :(
Time sure flies when your having fun.
I have been going to this event for 6 years now.
I have gone when it was my husbands birthday, or on our Anniversary...but this year it was a little later in the month, so I didn't miss anything :)
As much as I love going to this event, as it is special to me as the Heart & Stroke foundation puts it on...this year it wasn't up to par with the past years.
Some of the ladies I had chatted with, were very disappointed with it this year and are having second thoughts on going next year.
We only have 3 crops here in my city a year (besides the ones I put on) and I want to support them so they will keep putting them on.

I will be going again next year, as well as all of my friends...no matter where we are, we always have a great time :)

I hope you all have a very Creative Day.

Winter Crop Set Up

I had a great time at my crop that I had hosted Saturday :)
But then again, I always have a great time with these ladies :)

One of my friends is missing from the photo from that day, as she had to attend a work meeting...but that didn't stop her from coming before and and after her meeting though :)

I did a short little video sharing how I decorated for this one :)
To watch this or any of my other videos just click on this link "Tracy's Treasures24" and it will take you to my channel :)
It doesn't matter how long these get togethers are...they just go by way to fast.
But I guess that is what happens when you are having way to much fun :)

I was asked what a "crop" is.
It is where a group of people get together and create. Such as scrapbooking, making cards or even quilting.
We each do our own thing or project, but it is nice to see what others are working on and bounce ideas off of each other.
I enjoy hosting them and have the huge table to accommodate my friends.
Hope I have explained it a bit better for you Dianne :)

Hope you all have a very creative day :)

Blogger prepping for her crop

I am hosting a 13 hour crop in my home.
It has been awhile since I have had one and I am so excited!!!!

Here are the invites I sent out :)
Turns out the ladies wanted to do a pot luck....yummmm :)

I had just finished decorating...with the help of my daughters.
The theme for this crop is snowflakes....we sure have enough of them here, lol.
I hope you all have a very creative day :)

Such Great Fun with Friends

Yesterday was the big Crop for Autism.
It was their 3rd annual 12 hour crop and my 3rd time attending :)
For those who don't know what a "Crop" is….it is a time for creative women (in this case scrapbookers and card makers) to get together and get some pages completed…or in my case visiting and laughing with my friends :)

I can not believe how fast the day/evening went.
That is when you know you are with your people….when the time goes by so fast and you are so sad when the evening comes to an end :(
Here is my group of ladies….not all of my friends could attend as the tickets were sold out right away…but then again it was for a great cause.

Sharon got lost in the top photo, so I wanted one of her with me….Lynne didn't want to be left out, so she jumped into the photo, teehee.

Not only did I enjoy the company of my regular scrappin' gang…I also enjoyed seeing Caroline again.
Not only did we wander to each other's tables a few times, but we also enjoyed looking at each others art journals.
If you remember Caroline and I have a challenge going on for our journals.
I was so excited to see her art journal in person….I have to say it is more beautiful in person then in photos….if that is even possible.

It just happen to be Sharon's birthday this day…and we couldn't leave that uncelebrated, teehee.

Sharon is a very quiet..I'll sit in the back and observe, type of person.
Well she picked the wrong group of friends for that, lol.
Not only did I pick her up a tiara to wear all day, I made her a birthday sash and Lesli got her a Birthday badge.
I picked up cupcakes…with a musical candle….because us singing didn't draw enough attention to her, lol.
But when Sharon won a prize and had to walk up to the stage, the whole room sang Happy Birthday to her, lol.

I hope you all have a very Creative Day.
I finished 6 layouts …with some bumps along the way…but that is for another blog post ;)

Tracy :)
