Lets the Creative Inspiration Begin!

Like I stated on Friday, I am planning on sharing a lot of crafty inspiration this week :)
I will start with my June Tag for the Tim Holtz 12 tags of 2014 :)
Nothing like the last minute eh?
I am not sure how I feel about this tag, its not one of my favourites that I have done this year.
I used the same techniques that Tim used….you should check out his blog "Tim's Blog" to see his tag and how he did the background on here :)

I stamped these Heartfelt Creations stamps on some pattern paper and fussy cut them out.
They do have matching dies, but I don't have them for this flower…but it is easy enough to cut these flowers out.

The stamp I have used on this tag was one from the $1.00 bin at Michaels many years ago. It came with a butterfly, but when I unmounted it from the wood block, I also cut the sentiment away from the butterfly :)
I love this sentiment.

I have been busy today as I even made a video ;)
If you would rather watch this video on my YouTube channel…just click on the link "Tracy's Treasures24"

I shared my tag from May, but I totally forgot to post my video on here as well as my YouTube channel.
Oops
So here is the video for May's tag.
If you would rather watch it on my YouTube channel, just click on the link "Tracy's Treasures"

See, I told you it was going to be a week filled with creative inspiration ;)

On another note, my Facebook account was hacked today. Someone tried to use my identity to get my friends to a lottery scam…but with help from my friends, I was able to shut those buggers down, teehee.

I had a wonderful long weekend at our cottage with my honey, my daughters and their boyfriends.
But man they can eat, lol.
This is one breakfast of eggs and bacon…and I didn't break one yolk, not a one, teehee.

I am hearing some some fireworks outside.
Tomorrow is Canada Day, I guess some are starting the celebration early :)

I hope you all had a Creative Day :)

Tracy :)

Fun filled day at the cottage.

Today was another wonderful day spent with my family.
I have always treasured the time I spent with my girls and my honey, but now that my girls are adults we aren't all together as much. But I am thankful that we all are in the same town and still get to be together as much as we do.

We were outside most of the day... In between the short thunder and rain storms.
We all went for an afternoon walk. Well all except Wayne and Heather.
I finished this book. It was a fast easy read. The characters and their relationships weren't believable and it was pretty predictable.  Not my choice of book, but my FIL's wife gave it to me and I forgot my book at home.
Enjoyed my 1 Can of Coke.
Because it's a long weekend for us, I allow myself a can a day, but I think this one can was enough to satisfy me :)
I had seen this tip on how to cut a watermelon and wanted to give it a try.
I have to say this is awesome!!
Will be doing this every time we get a watermelon.
Even though we walked quite a bit today, I still wanted to do my power walk tonight.
I planned on doing 6-8 laps.
But Mother Nature had other plans.
During my 3rd lap there was a downpour :(.
Needless to say, I got a tad bit soaked.
Power just went out.
Odd Asia is, it isn't even raining.
Wayne just put some candles out so the kids (I know they are not kids) can finish their board game.

I hope you all had a Creative Day :)

Getting lost.

When we got to the cottage last night, Heather wanted to go for a walk down one of the trails. On the way we spotted this.
Army worm cocoon. Gross.
When we reached the trail, all the trees were cut down :(. So no trail left.
But we decided to walk it anyway.
We got lost in the bush, lol.  We were walking and talking, we just didn't really pay attention.
I had map my walk on. Good thing as it helped us get out of there easier.
The bottom of the laddle (as this is what it looks like to me) is where we went in the trail. As you can see we didn't follow the same way out, lol
Ashley and Tyler came out this morning. Even at the cottage she leaves her mark.
Wayne took us all to the restaurant for lunch.
Today was a hot muggy day. The lake was cold, but Blake went for a swim.
We had a small fire to roast some marshmallows and to make some s'mores.
It was a wonderful day spent with my family :).
I hope you all had a Creatve Day.

Day with my Girls

Today was an awesome day.
I got to spend it with my girls !!!!!!
First off we went to brunch.
Here is Kristy and Heather :)

Ashley and I.
She was so sweet and treated us all to brunch :)

Then we went shopping.
Ashley picked up some cushions for her patio benches.
I bought some yoga pants, as all of my other ones have paint on them.
Walked around the mall.
When did acid wash jeans make a comeback?   And high waisted at that, lol.

Lastly we went flower shopping for Ashley's front flower bed.
She has so many small birds in her neighbourhood, unlike mine that is full of crows:(

Here is Ashley's front flower bed.
I love the stands on either side of the window with the hanging baskets in them…..I think I may need a few of these for myself ;)

It is a long weekend for us :)
Canada day is on Tuesday, but when the holiday lands on an odd day, Wayne switches it so everyone gets a long weekend ;)
Ashley took Monday off work, so she has an extended holiday as Tuesday her office is closed…as is most all stores here.

I hope you all had a Creative Day :)
I am planning on creating all next week…I'm so excited :)

Outside work

Today was a beautiful day to work outside at Ashley's house.
We started with me telling her I really didn't want to make her a patio table.
She had great plans, it would have looked awesome, but I really wasn't up to making a table today.
So we washed her patio deck instead.
In that process, we decided to follow this wire….the previous owners had speakers on the outside of the garage.
They ran the wiring from the house siding, under the deck, underground and through the garage foundation.
So I pulled on the wire until we hit it underground and then cut it off.
I didn't notice that Kristy took this photo until she sent it to me ;)
We all look very inquisitive don't we, teehee.

We had to run to the hardware store to pick up a few supplies and while we were there, Ashley found a patio table that she liked.
It came with 6 chairs (which was good as the chairs she wanted she would have had to order on-line, but the chairs she really wanted where like 650.00 each…..yes for patio chairs!!! No she wouldn't have ordered them) Not only did the patio set Ashley bought came with 6 chairs, they also came with nice thick cushions….of course she doesn't like the cushions (there had to be something, lol), but she likes the blue/white ones she placed on top of them.
I see some sewing in my future, lol.

Lastly we spread some topsoil.
Well I didn't do any of the topsoil, as Ashley won't let me, as she thinks I may have a heart attack…and you know, there are still things she needs done around her house, lol.
Just kidding, she really doesn't let me do things that she thinks are too strenuous for me.

While Ashley and Tyler (Ashley's boyfriend) were getting to work on the topsoil, Tyler needed a new pair of gloves as his pair had pretty big holes in them.
He found these garden gloves in Ashley's shed…he really had to work to put them on as they are pretty small :)
I told him I needed a picture of him with his pretty working gloves, he even posed for me…such a great sport he is :)

So that was my day today.
It was so nice to actually be outside on this beautiful day.

I hope you all had a Creative Day :)

Closet Make Over

Ashley comes up with the ideas, and I make them happen …if I want to or not, teehee ;)

If you remember from this post from last year when we made Ashley's second bedroom into her dressing room. We never did finish this closet.
She wanted it to be her shoe and purse closet.
Can you believe a whole closet (even a small one) dedicated to just purses and shoes?!
Well it is true :)

So we started out with an empty closet.
Ashley painted the closet last night. I thought we had painted everything, but I guess this closet needed another coat.
But I see she forgot to paint the baseboards white ;)

I drew out my sketch with measurements and gathered my tools.
Actually there was another drill.
It is so much faster and not as frustrating to have one drill with a drill bit in it to drill my holes and another drill with a screwdriver bit to actually screw in the screws.
It is very frustrating to have to keep changing the bits for each screw.

To show you how tiny this closet it, Ashley took a photo of me working in it.
I was going to take a photo of her, but she was on her phone chilaxin' on her bed at the time :P

I added the wood pieces on the walls so the shelves can sit on them.

3 shelves for her shoes. We made the shelves deep enough to fit two layers of shoes on each one. So 10 pairs of shoes for each shelf.
We also added a closet rod to hang her purses on.
The purses on attached to pant hangers, then hung on the rod :)

Pretty cool, if I do say so myself ;)
The green containers hold her flip flops and summer flats.
Ashley bought white spray paint to change the colour.

With closet #1 completed, we worked on closet #2.
This one is in her bedroom.
I did the same thing in this closet as we did in the last closet, but only put up one shelf.

I asked her to stage it for me so I could take a photo.
She is not putting her clothes in this closet….I think she has enough room in her dressing room, lol.

Sebastian was very curious with all the work we did ;)

Look…I even got lunch out of the deal ;)
Thank you Ashley

I did get to create a bit tonight.
I am in a couple of swaps and have to get them in the mail tomorrow.
I will share those on another day :)

I hope you all had a Creative Day :)

Being put to work

My oldest daughter Ashley has booked the week off work.
But before she did, she made sure I was available to help her with working on her new home.
Funny as Kristy told Ashley that she wanted me to do something with her this week.
Ashley told her "I have dibs on mom for this week". LOL
So today we tackled some closets.

When she bought her home, she didn't like how the inside of the closets were put together. So she asked me to dismantle them….which I did.
Ashley was so excited when she bought her home that she was all over the place with repairs and upgrades. Then she was upset as she didn't think things were getting completed.
I told her that if she focused on one job and see it completed to the end before going to the next job, that it would be more rewarding than seeing many jobs 1/2 way completed.
I think she took my advice, as today she would say "focus on the closet".
See our children do pay attention, teehee.

Now back to her closets.
I was going to just paint the wood that we removed last year, but looking at it, I could see it was cracked and some of it looked like the previous owners used scrap wood.
So we started from scratch.
We picked up new wood and I started measuring and cutting the wood.
Kristy and Ashley painted the cut pieces and tomorrow we will start putting together the closets :)

It has been raining all day today.
Wayne came back home this mooring at 8:30 am to change his clothes.
He got caught in a down pour when he started up the plant, and was soaked to the bone.
He had to run back to the scale shack to find a bag to put on his cast as the artwork I had done was started to run from the rain.
I was chilled all day from running in and out of the rain all day and I had a rain jacket on…so he must have been chilled as well.

Hope you all had a Creative Day :)

This and That

Aren't these blooms so so pretty.
They are suppose to attract hummingbirds…but I have never seen one near them.

Wayne and I planted this little shrub against our house about 19 yrs ago.
It only bloomed the first year and then seemed to die the following year. I was hoping it would perk up in the following year, but nope.
So I thought what the heck and planted the dead shrub in the corner here.
Well now look at it..it has almost took over our corner flower bed.
It has encased the bird bath Wayne and I made.
I know I should trim it down, but it just looks so pretty with all these blooms.
If I had known it was going to take over this area, I would have planted it more in the corner.

Remember Wayne didn't want anyone to sign his cast?
Well we all had a go at it last night ;)
Even Ashley came by and signed it, teehee.
I am going to wait until he is asleep and really deck out my signature ;)
If you are wondering about the other signatures…these are my daughters gamer names ;)

Debbie and I didn't get to do our walk today.
It was rainy, Debbie worked late and I went with Wayne to help him get some hard toe work shoes, as his work boots are hard for him to pull on and tie…I have been helping him, but now with the cast I had to help him at 6:30am.
And you all know how I L O V E to get up early…not, lol.

I did get a walk in though…on my treadmill.
Which was good as my knee is still sore, and the treadmill is better on the ol' joints than the paved walkways.
I walked 12 laps with is 3 miles/4.83km.

I hope you all had a Creative Day :)

Broken bones

Every weekend I have shared a photo of my one and only can of Coke that I enjoy for the week.
Here is this weeks photo.
I am not sure if I am going to drink it (its not open yet) as I had a few to many goodies this weekend at the cottage ;)

Here was my hand model.
I had mentioned a couple of weeks ago in this post here that my husband Wayne hurt his wrist on his quad.
The doctor had told him then, that he had pulled some ligaments and should feel better in a few days.
As it turned out, it got worse every day since then.
When we went to Emergency we had a different doctor who ordered more x-rays.
There are a few tiny bones in his wrist that may be broken, but an x-ray won't pick them out. Plus his ligaments are also torn.
So he had to get a cast…poor baby :(

I told him we were all going to sign his cast and draw funny pictures.
He didn't seem impressed.
Until Kristy came to him with a large sharpie marker and signed her gamer name ;)

And just because its my blog ;)
Here is a photo of me walking at the cottage. I love walking there.
Sadly I have to stick to this one route as Wayne doesn't like me to walk the whole pipeline without him following me on the quad.
And with his arm in the cast, he won't be driving the ATV any time soon.

I hope you all had a Creative Day :)

Planting more flowers

Started my day with a 5 mile walk.
Here is the beautiful trail I walk here at our cottage.
I don't think anyone else walks out here except me. The tire marks are from our quads ;)
This trail comes out at the TransCanada highway. I do have to walk along this highway to make my circle. I did 6 laps this morning.
After my walk I cleaned out our flower beds and did some planting. It took about 3 hours to clean and plant all the beds and planters. Lots of planting.
I wanted to go for another walk tonight after supper, but my knees disagreed after kneeling a good part of the day.
Here is my map for today :)
As I walked around the hotel, it seemed everyone wanted me to chat with them. So it took me a bit longer to do my walk. But had a few nice chats.
I hope you all had a Creative Day :)

Cardmaps

I was pretty excited to receive these in the mail. I was actually pretty surprised with how fast they arrived after I had placed the order.
Funny thing is I haven't even looked at them yet.
I told myself I have to save them for this weekend, as it is suppose to rain most of the weekend.
I may have to peek at them during our drive up to the cottage though ;)
I hope they are good, I never buy card magazines, only scrapbooking mags.
So we will see.

Today was a bit of a busy day.
Plus it was a day I just wanted to head back to bed as it was raining and drab outside.
But I didn't nap, I thought I could save the nap for the drive up to the cottage…if I don't get into those magazines first ;)
I had a bit of running around to do, and I wanted to plant some flowers at Wayne's moms grave.
The rain let up and Heather and I did just that.
But not before she made me this delicious lunch of turkey, tomato and spinach sandwich with some ice tea ;)
Thank you Heather :)

Hope you all had a Creative Day :)
