My display is complete :)
Isn't it pretty :)
Hubby needed to put this pile of sand by the gate so vehicles couldn't get into the camp.
He thought I was going to be so disappointed.
But I thought of a way to make this ugly sand pile into something pretty.
We brought our old wheel barrel from home (it had a couple of tiny holes in it and a broken tire). We painted it (we, being Kristy and Wayne) one of my favourite colours.
And I placed it on the sand pile.
Then the whole family went out to pick rocks. Nothing bonds a family like rock pickin, teehee.
Then all of us placed the rocks on the pile of sand, then added crusher fines in between the rocks.
Today I planted my flowers.
I wanted different flowers, but this late in the season, there isn't much to pick from.
Onto My Day:
Wayne and I treated the deck with a sealent.
And we have been trying to keep cool. It is so hot here right now.
Last I looked it was 30C/90F.
Can't complain to much...at least its not snow ;)
Hope you all had a creative Thursday :)
Tracy :)

ReplyDeleteLove it! Looks much prettier than just a pile of sand :o) Caleb started a new craft today...latch hook kits! He loves it, not very fast yet so now we are doing that together :o) I hope he doesn't grow out of me too quick! Hugs!

I think it looks great!!! I have a spare wheelbarrow in my side yard I could do something like this. We are in a heat wave too this week- between 90-100. Thank goodness we have A/C.

ReplyDeleteSuch a great idea!
ReplyDeleteLove all of the rocks around it!
For some reason your blog posts weren't showing up for a couple of days. I thought something was wrong because you hadn't been posting. Then all of a sudden 4 new blog posts popped up. Weird. Sorry to hear about your thief. Which is I'm guessing why you had to put the sand pile in. I think you guys made it beautiful! I love it. I never would have though of it. Is there anything you can plant in the sand so it comes out between the rocks? I have a black thumb so I know nothing of what can be grown where. I need to learn fast because my new yard is full of plants and gardens and it needs to be cleaned up and fixed because the owner decided to not do anything with it this spring since they were leaving.
ReplyDeletethat is so much fun!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful deterrent for the unwelcome. Love the splash of bright colors atop the stone. Bet you all were sore when the day was done. Those rocks can get pretty heavy after a while :-)
ReplyDeleteLove you - Leslie
