The Magic of Movies tag swap

My friend Stephanie and I have been doing art journal challenges for each other for a couple of years on and off now.
This is the second tag swap that I have participated in with her and her friends.
The theme for this tag swap was "The Magic of the Movies"
As many know I love scary, horror and Zombie movies....but figuring not everyone likes those types of movies...I went with a general movie theme.

I stamped these tickets from the Tim Holtz stamp collection on the same paper as the tag itself and then fussy cut them out.
I also stamped the word background because I thought the text looked like those old time theatre posters.
If you look closely I added some of Vicki Boutin's iridescent glaze under the black film strip.
I used a piece of the discarded black film strip as as stencil to use with the glaze.

The black film strip was punched out with a mini punch, that was put in a border gadget (like a border punch type of thing) where the paper is moved with each punch.
There is an acetate film strip, by Tim Holtz, which I stapled on top of the black film strip.

I had fun playing with my mixed mediums.
If you look at the bottom corner of the tag I used Inkagold with a stencil to look like a film reel.

In this photo below, you can see the Glaze I used with the stencil I made.
I also used washi tape.

Here are the ladies that did the swap this time.
I am the one in the burgundy Stephanie is the one holding her selfie stick :)

Only 3 of us were in this swap this time.
Me Stephanie and her mom Louann.
Mt tag is on the left, Stephanie's (The Littlest Mermaid inspired) is the center and Louann's is on the right.
They all turned out so beautiful and unique.

Oh look!!!
I did a video of my tag...not only to share more of this tag with you, but I also did a process video on how I created it.
If you would rather watch it on my YouTube channel, just click on the link "Tracy's Treasures 24"

Thank you all for visiting me today and I hope you all have a very Creative Day :)

Art Journal Travel Kit

I put together a little Art Journal Travel Kit a while ago, but haven't shared it yet.
I took this plastic chocolate box my daughter gave me. I like it as the lid was clear so I could see in it.
I also used a Smashbook elastic to hold it together better, so I could just throw this in my bag and not worry about anything falling out.

I wanted to put my Dylusions paints in here, but the containers they come in are to big for me to put them in here as well as the other products I wanted to fit in.
I wanted this to be compact, but I also wanted to bring all of colours with me.

How I rectified this was to go and pick up these small containers from the dollar store and put some paint in each container.
The lids snap tightly closed and I can see which colour is which.
They are also small enough that I was able to pack all of my colours in my travel kit.

The next product I wanted to bring with me is my molding paste or embossing paste.
Again, the container is to big for my container.
So I purchased (once again from the dollar store) a bit bigger snap lid container for this.

I think I would use more embossing paste than the paints, so that is why I have it in a bigger container.
Plus I can always refill it when it gets low.

This mini Travel kit has the essentials.
I have a container that this one fits in where I can add stencils, stamps and such.
I have an inner kit with my necessities and then a outer kit for when I have a certain project in mind --What I keep in my Inner Permanent Kit--: * Dylusions paints *molding paste (or embossing paste) *spatula *Distress water crayons *A water spritzer *paint brush *Black marker for doodling *baby wipes --What I put in my Outer Project Kit--: (this one changes depending on the page I am working on) *Stencils *texture stamps
*decorative napkins *Archival Ink *as it won't smear *paper towel *resist pad for messes

I did this video for a more indepth look into my Art Journal Travel Kit.
If you would rather watch it on my YouTube channel, just click the link "Tracy's Treasures 24"

I hope this helps anyone who would like to Art Journal on the go!!!
Have a very Creative Day :)

Peachy Cheap Online Haul

Just a quick little post on an on-line haul I did from Peachy Cheap a few or more months ago.
I am still playing catch up with my videos and projects that I did, but have not yet shared...why is that.
I still haven't figured out why I seem to stock pile my videos and projects the last few years, lol.
Time to rectify that once I have caught up.

So I did a bit of on-line shopping...I know, I know, I say I don't on-line shop and then I go all crazy on it, lol.
This first one is these Julia Nutting stickers.
You know I love to colour my Julie Nutting images, but I thought these would be fun to quickly put in my planner or journal.

I thought this was a fun collection.
It is the Domestic Bliss collection by Simple Stories.
Anytime I find ephemera (or die cut pieces) I am so happy.
The only store we have here in town is Michaels and they don't carry these new fun collections.

Next is this Reset Girl collection.
I want to call it the Reese girl collection....I think I need some chocolate, teehee.
I am a lover and obsess over office supplies (as well as craft supplies) ;)
So even though these aren't the colours I usually gravitate to, I like these images and thought they would be fun to play with in my planner.

My last collection is from Simple Stories called Winter Wonderland.
I am looking forward to working with it on my Christmas projects.

As I mentioned above, I did a video on this haul, but didn't post it for some odd reason....so here it is.

I hope you all have a very Creative Day :)

The Last Messy Room Tour

OK people it is time to get real...or at least its time for me to get real, lol.
I have been re-vamping, organizing or defunkifying my room off and on (mostly off) for what seems to be forever....seriously though, it has been a year or 2 that I have been working on it.
So here it is in all its glory and mess.

My craft room is downstairs in the corner, without any windows.
It measures 13 'x 7'.
But with my wall of cabinets it measures 13' x6'.....plus with the desk and such the areas are smaller.

Here is my desk.
My desk measures 6' x 2.5'
I made my desk by putting 3 book cases in a "C" shape and adding this piece of melamine on top of them.
I did re-work it a couple of months ago and like how it is now.
I like that I have more room to work on and I LOVE that my markers an other colouring mediums are front and center.
Looking at all of those pretty colours just makes me happy.

Here is the view of my room from when you first step into it.
I have this wall of cabinets and in the center of them is pegboard that I painted to match my walls.
To see the mess inside the cabinets, you'll have to check out the video.

This wall here is behind the door.
I usually have the door open, so the punches on the wall behind the door and hanging from the door can't be seen.
I love my wall of punches as well as how I have them stored in that wall  unit.
The tower is 4 units stacked on top of each other.
The first 2 units which is 6 drawers holds my washi tape.
The other 2 units holds my stencils and other embellishments.

This is my paper area.
I have my 12x12 paper pads in those black bins and my 6x6 paper packs in the cubbies.
The unit against the wall holds mini albums.

Believe it or not, I think this is the worst part of my room..its my little secret....
Because it is on the other side of my desk, it can't be seen when you walk into my room.
Those carts, I love them and and don't, lol.
I love them because they hold a lot of supplies and can be moved around.
I don't love them because it is harder to get out the supplies in the lower tiers and they take up space.
One held my colouring mediums and my art journal mediums.
The other held my journaling and planner supplies.....but now I don't know what is in what as they are all mixed up.
Those clear Iris containers hold layouts that need a home or need some photos.

Lastly this is my cutting station.
It is in my laundry room, which is just outside me craft room.
I really like this area.
What I need to do it raise that middle shelf so I can tuck my Cricut under the Brother scan and cut.

I love my little craft room.
The whole family took part in putting it together with me and I love the colour and that it is a space I can get lost in.
With that being said, I really need to take care of it and defunkify it.

I did a video in full detail of my room...every nook and cranny, lol.
If you would rather watch it on my YouTube channel (as on my blog, it seems to cut off part of the screen) here is a link to my channel "Tracy's Treasures 24"

I am going to be working on my room one area or one supply type at a time.
I am going to be sharing my process on here and my YouTube, but am also challenging anyone who wants to join me!
Every Saturday I am going to post the area that we are going to be working on, on my Facebook Group Tracy's Treasures Shares in the Files section.
I would love to see how you are doing!!

I am off to my daughter's house to help her with some organizing....hmmmm maybe thats why mine is a mess, lol.

Be Bold, Be Bright, Be Beautiful. Art journal page

Another art journal challenge!!!
This time I was the one that picked the theme...can you guess what it was?
I wanted to play with some bright bold colours :)
I think I achieved my goal ;)

First off I used some Dylusions paint to colour my background.
I love the bold bright colours these paints have...odd that I haven't used them that much.
I honestly did not like the background when I first started out.
After adding the colours, I then used a few different stencils to add some texture to the background.

I used these same Dylusions paints, but in different colours for the butterflies.
I just added the colour on some white cardstock, stamped the images and then fussy cut them out.
This one is my favourite...It is a Tim Holtz butterfly stamp (Thank you Lesli for lending it to meπŸ’— )

This stamp is from Inkadinkado.

I also added some rub-ons to the background before adhering the butterflies.

I used these letter stickers Sharon gave me that she picked up from a discount store...they were for signs, but I have used them on so many projects!!
The sparkly "beautiful" came from a sticker pack.

I also did a process video on how I created this page :)
If you would rather watch it on my YouTube channel, just click on the link "Tracy's Treasures 24"

I am posting this challenge on my Facebook Group Tracy's Treasures Shares.
It doesn't have to be an art journal page, it could be a card, scrapbook page, knitting, quilting...what ever your medium of choice is.
I would love if you joined us there...I would love to see what you create.

I hope you all have a very creative day

Heather Beautiful Beauty

My middle daughter Heather hates getting her photo taken, so it is hard to scrapbook her, as there are not many photos of her.
While my girls were on a photo shoot, Ashley, my oldest, took these of just Heather.
I love them and needed to scrapbook them.

I used papers left over from a kit I was almost done with as well as some cardstock.
See that pretty tag...it was in our gift bag at a Crop for Heart event.

The floral card and the paper were from different kits, but I was happy at how well they went to together.
I still need to journal on this page....and here I thought this layout was complete until I did the video, teehee.

Talk about video, I did a video with a bit more information on this layout.
If you would like to watch it on my YouTube channel, just click on the link "Tracy's Treasures 24"

Thank you so much for visiting me today, I would love to hear from you :)

Winter Beauties Scrapbook Layout

I love how this layout turned out.
It, again, is an older layout which I haven't shared yet.
My daughter Ashley (who is a photographer) took these photos of her and her 2 sisters.

These papers are gorgeous.
For the main photo I backed it up with dark cardstock.
Then with an exacto knife I cut part of the banner and the "Love" flourish so I could tuck the photo under them without loosing these pretty elements of the paper.

I used a border punch to put a decorative edge to my tags.
I do this a lot with plain shipping tags, it just adds so much to them.
I also love to ink elements up and did a lot of inking to my tags.

I did a video with a bit more detail of these layouts.

Casino Friends

Still working on catching up.
I thought I had posted this as I made it a long while ago....but nope

Every year my friend Sharon and I go to Hinckley for a little getaway.
Sharon goes to gamble, and I go to craft and shop.
One day we travel to Crafts Direct to do some (lots) crafty shopping as well as to Pine City Scrapbooking...love those stores!!!

I am not sure how much I love this layout as I don't care for the green background I used.
I was thinking of actually cutting the green away and mounting the layout on a white piece of cardstock.
I added a pocked with more information on our trip and what we did.
But there are so many more layouts I want to do that it isn't a priority at the moment.
When I am all caught up on my layouts, hahahaha, I may go back and touch up my not so loved ones.

I made a video of this layout in more detail.

Happy Winter Art Journal

I wanted to play with lots of texture on one of my art journal pages, and here it is.
I adhered laces and chipboard pieces, some gauze and different types of texture pastes.
After adhering all my goodies on my page.....boy was it ugly, lol.
But I knew that was going to happen and was planning on covering it all up with gesso.
After my gesso dried, I added a bit of colour here and there :)

I love these Julie Nutting images, so stamped her on a seperate piece of paper and coloured her up with my water colour pencils.

Here is all the texture close up.
I had fun putting this page together, but so much drying time.

I have a process video on how I made this page.

Art Journal Flip

To continue on with my catching up on my social sites, I realized I haven't shared my art journal pages.
Sure I have done some process videos on some of my pages, but other pages, I have just created without videos or photos.

This page was a fun one as I played with Dylusions paints and different techniques.
I actually did a video process on this one...you can check it out here "Live Carefree"

I love how this page turned out.
Those little rain drops were a lot of work, but well worth it.
I also have a process video on this page "Dance in the Rain"

Now for the flip through of all of my pages.
I have really enjoyed art journaling and I have also enjoyed meeting and doing challenges with those that enjoy art journaling as much as I do.

Embrace Life

Guess what I have been up to ........playing catch up again.

I have a note book where I post my YouTube, Blog, Facebook and Pinterest posts and if I posted to them all.
Well, I took a good look at it yesterday and noticed that I had a lot of unchecked boxes.
For the next week or so, I am going to check those boxes off...cause now that I know, I need to check them off, lol.
I noticed that this layout was checked off and I posted a video of it to my YouTube channel, but not here on my blog!?!?
I even checked back and couldn't find it...so here it is :)

I made this layout to document my friend and I in our 1st (and probably last) 1/2 marathon!!
I was so proud of myself and Deborah for not only doing this, but for completing it and for coming in 2nd and 3rd!!

Look at the medal we received for completing the marathon!!
We wanted to finish the race at the same time, so we put our arms around each other and crossed the finish line together.
It was a bit emotional.
When Debbie asked me if I would do this with her, there was no other answer except....yes!!!
I am game for almost anything.
And I am so happy that I was the one she thought to ask to join her on this journey πŸ’—

Like I mentioned above, I have a video on this page.
If you would like to watch it on my YouTube channel, just click the link "Tracy's Treasures24"

Thank you all so much for joining me today and I hope you all have a very creative day.

Happy Day Card

I hoard my cards.
I still have cards I have made 5 yrs ago, and I still feel attached to them.

With that being said...I don't have any masculine cards.

My daughter's boyfriend was coming over and I couldn't find a suitable birthday card for him.
I had to quickly make a card.
I thought I had a balloon shaped punch...but nope, I didn't.
But I found this fun 6x6 birthday paper pack.

After cutting the pattern paper for my card front, I fussy cut some balloons out of the left over paper, inked them up, shaped them and then popped them up.

The "happy day!" also came from this paper pack.
I just backed it with a scrap of dark brown cardstock.
On the back of all of my cards I use this stamp.
I love hearts and the 3 hearts represent my love for my 3 daughters πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—.
I added the Iron Man (who I keep calling Tron) sticker on the back as Blake loves Marvel Super heroes.

This card was so super simple that I wasn't going to post it, but hey, not every card has to be a masterpiece, lol

Hope you all have a very Creative Day :)

Nope, I didn't type in the incorrect date......I have had this post in my drafts for a whole month....and totally forgot to post it!!
It is my March's SCT Sampler kit.
I is a bit of happy mail I receive every month :)
The sampler  is a bit of this and that of new products.

So much happiness all in one package πŸ’—
I made a video so show more in detail what was in my package :)
