He-Art Journal week #7 and a Thankful Thursday

Today is week 7 for the Greeting Farms He-Art Journal challenge.

WEEK 7 - Every Cloud has a Silver Lining

                                                                     (a cloudy concept)
Assignment: Create a spread or a page using clouds as your inspiration! This can be layering over your artwork with paints, creating transparencies, rubbing a little chalk over some elements... You can use cloud shapes, cotton balls, gauze, toilet paper, tissue paper, paper doilies, lace.... Use any stamps you want, colors, etc. Not necessary to use any TGF stamps, this is YOUR journal, do what you want cuz you rule that journal!

Here are my pages.
I found this lovely poem by Craig Nicholson. I think it goes wonderfully with this page.
I coloured the stamped images with my Copics...surprise, surprise ;)
I stamped the trees directly on the background paper.

A closer look at this sweet poem.
I also stamped the wind streaks directly on the blue cardstock.

I bought some sticky back canvas (artist trading card size) on our trip. I have never used it before and thought it would work on this page.
I put fiberfill behind the piece before I stuck it down. I think the dimension is fun.

Onto My Day:
I finished up some loose ends with my book work.
Did some banking and paid some bills.
Wayne and I picked up some groceries for camp.
Chatted on the phone with my friend, Deb. She said she bought some stamps from a lady on kijiji. Debbie is new to colouring stamped images. Sounds to me like she got some awesome ones....I'm so jealous .
That's about it for my exciting day :)

Thankful Thursday:
-That Kristy had a good 1st day of grade 11 yesterday.
-I was able to create for a bit today
-That we are heading off to our cottage tomorrow.
-That I have a friend that enjoys colouring and has some new stamps for me to play with :)

What are you Thankful for today?

Tracy

  7. Very cute page. I love that you use your copics so much. Now you are going to have to start collecting the refills for them!

Oh and don't forget you can't use the stamps your friend has because that is not allowed according to copyrights. You have to go and buy your own stamps. Even though copy rights are to protect people from having their art claimed as someone else's or to protect the artist from having someone else make money off of their designs. Which by the way was never brought up in the discussions because people are really stupid. It's your stamp and you can do what you want with it. You just can't claim it as your own design or make money off of it. I'll send you some images if you want ;)
